Child Counseling in Siloam Springs, AR
I offer child counseling in Siloam Springs for kids ages 4 to 12, and I start with you. Before I meet your child, I meet with you to hear what you're seeing at home and at school. Sessions are in person at my office on Main Street.
Schedule a free 15-minute callWho it is for
Parents usually call me about things like these:
- Big feelings that come out as meltdowns, tears, or anger
- Worry that shows up as stomachaches, trouble sleeping, or not wanting to go to school
- Changes in behavior at home or at school that you can't explain
- A hard or scary event, like an accident, a loss, or something your child saw
- Changes in the family, like a divorce, a move, a new baby, or a parent who is away
You don't need a diagnosis or a clear reason to call. If something feels off, that's enough to start a conversation.
What the first visit looks like
The first visit is just you, without your child. We talk about what worries you, your child's history, what you've already tried, and what you hope will be different. You can ask me anything about how I work.
Then your child comes in. The first session with them is mostly about getting comfortable. They look around the playroom, choose what to do, and get to know me at their own pace. Nobody is pushed to talk.
How I work with your child
Young children usually can't explain what's bothering them, but they can show it. So with younger kids I use play: toys, art, a sand tray, and stories. With kids around 10 to 12, I often mix play with more talking. I follow your child's lead and help put words to what they feel.
If your child has been through something frightening, I'm trained in TF-CBT, a structured approach for children after trauma.
How I work with parents
You know your child better than anyone, so you're part of this. I meet with you regularly to share what I'm noticing and ideas to try at home. Some weeks it makes sense for me to meet with just you.
I keep your child's exact words private so the playroom feels safe for them, but you won't be left guessing about how things are going.

Questions parents ask
Children ages 4 to 12. I also see teens and adults, and I meet with parents on their own.
Usually your child has the playroom with me while you wait nearby. Some children need a parent close at first, and that's fine. We figure it out together.
New families can usually start within a week. The first step is a free 15-minute call.
It depends on your child and what's going on. I check in with you regularly about what I'm seeing, and we decide together when to slow down or stop.
