Trauma Counseling for Teens and Adults
Sometimes something frightening or painful stays with you long after it ends. I offer trauma counseling for teens, college students, and adults who want a steady place to start making sense of it.

People often notice things like these after a hard experience, whether it was recent or long ago:
- Memories or dreams that keep coming back
- Feeling on edge, jumpy, or easily startled
- Avoiding places, people, or topics that bring it back
- Feeling numb, distant, or not like yourself
- Trouble sleeping or focusing
What working together can look like
You are in control of what you share. We don't start with the hardest part. First we work on feeling safe and steady, in session and in your daily life. We only talk about what happened when you're ready, and we can slow down or pause any time.
I'm trained in TF-CBT, a structured approach that was made for children and teens after trauma, and I draw on that with teens. With every client I explain what we're doing in plain words, and you can always ask why.
Feeling safe also means practical things: knowing you can stop a session, take a break, or say "not today." If you're dealing with something that is still happening, we start with your safety first.
Common questions
Not right away, and never before you're ready. Many people spend the first sessions just getting settled and building ways to calm down when things feel like too much.
That's okay. Many people come years later, when something brings it back or they finally have room to look at it.
You don't need a label to start. If something still weighs on you, we can talk about it.
